Kauwgomballenfabriek welcomes Podimo as new tenant of approximately 2,300 sq m

Kauwgomballenfabriek (KBF) in Amsterdam-Overamstel welcomes Podimo as its new tenant. The podcast company will occupy approximately 2,300 sq m of office space and podcast studios, bringing its Dutch organisation and production companies Tonny Media and Dag en Nacht together at one location.

The leased space is located in KBF Warehouse, part of Kauwgomballenfabriek. The building combines industrial heritage with contemporary architecture, high ceilings and abundant natural daylight. The redevelopment meets Paris Proof targets and holds BREEAM Excellent In-Use certification and energy label A+++.Podimo is a European subscription service for podcasts and audiobooks, headquartered in Copenhagen and active in seven countries. Since launching in the Netherlands in 2022, Podimo has grown into an established player in the Dutch podcast market, with the largest advertising network.

The choice of Kauwgomballenfabriek reflects how Podimo plans to further develop its Dutch organisation in the coming years. The location provides space for the three brands to work together from one place, with new podcast studios and facilities to support the growing organisation, while allowing each editorial team to retain its own identity. With around 130 employees and six new podcast studios from the outset, Podimo will continue building the future of podcasting in the Netherlands from Kauwgomballenfabriek from October onwards.

“We were looking for a place that fits the next phase of Podimo in the Netherlands. Not a standard office, but a place where three brands can work together under one roof without losing their own identities. Tonny Media should still feel like Tonny Media, and Dag en Nacht should still feel like Dag en Nacht. What we do share are the facilities, studios and technology that support our work. Kauwgomballenfabriek literally provides the space for that, but also the energy we are looking for: a creative, raw environment where many creators and media companies already come together. The excellent accessibility and the sustainable character of the building also appealed to us. KBF therefore fits well with how we want to collaborate and continue to grow,” said Pepe van de Kerkhof, Content Innovation Manager at Podimo.

With Podimo joining the community, the mix of media companies, creative entrepreneurs and digital creators at Kauwgomballenfabriek continues to grow. The complex, located on the former Maple Leaf factory site, consists of several industrial-style buildings and is situated in Amsterdam-Overamstel.
